Nirvana memorabilia as part of Christie's auction

More than 120 records, photos, and promotional pieces for punk, garage rock, and new wave legends such as Blondie, the Sex Pistols, Nirvana and David Bowie will be part of a Christie's auction in New York on November 24.

One of the big-ticket items up for auction is a guitar used by a young Kurt Cobain while recording demos at his Aunt's house in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1982 and 1985. The item is expected to fetch $60,000-$80,000.

Another item up for grabs is a framed poster of the cover artwork for Nirvana's iconic 1991 album Nevermind, signed by all three members of the group.
