NFC Miscellaneous content Chat transcripts |
Introduction: Over the years, there's been a number of "chat sessions" with
various musicians and celebrities.
Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have been involved with some of these. Here are the transcripts of these chats. There's also a selection of other transcripts of chats that I have attended and/or found to be interesting. On October 16, 1997 I attended a chat session with Krist Novoselic and Yva Las Vegas - lead singer of his band at the time, Sweet 75. There were only about 10-15 people present which made it easier for my own questions to get selected. Some of my questions: NFC: What do you think about bootlegs? Krist Novoselic: Most bootlegs come out of Palermo, Italy. That says a lot there. NFC: Which song on the album do you enjoy most? Krist Novoselic: I feel we've recorded a really diverse record, and each song has its own personality. When I perform, I like to immerse myself in the music, and I just try to get off on the diversity of music. I love 'em all, like Ozzy Ozbourne loves his fans. NFC: Would you team up with Dave and Pat sometime and play some Nirvana songs live? I mean you played with them a little at the recent Bumbershoot festival. Krist Novoselic: No I wouldn't. I'm really into Sweet 75 right now, and I dig playing Nirvana, don't get me wrong. Even if Kurt never died, more than likely I'd be in Sweet 75 today still. Then I asked him if he'd visited this site or any Sweet 75 ones: Krist Novoselic: Carlton Kim has a great one [for Sweet 75]. I can't remember the last time I looked at a Nirvana web site. Another chat session I've attended was with the Foo Fighters. It took place at SonicNet (a music portal site) on Sunday the 5th of October 1997. The moderators present at the chat (who determined which questions the band should answer) chose some of the most irrelevant and stupid questions there were - out of the some 500 questions submitted. The transcript that SonicNet eventually put up is incomplete, missing some of these dumb questions. Unfortunately, Dave Grohl was not present at the session but only the drummer and bassist at the time. Dave did attend a chat session a few years later. Highlights from that event is in the news section archive. Notice: Some of the transcripts are incomplete. My username is "RH" or "NirvClub".
